Builder Spotlight: Mallard Builders

At Junk in the Truck, we value working with builders who care just as much about quality and craftsmanship as they do about the people living in the spaces they create. This month, we’re spotlighting Mallard Builders, a Philadelphia-based company led by founder Kevin, whose approach to construction is centered around thoughtful design, high-quality craftsmanship, and doing things the right way.

Founded just two years ago, Mallard Builders focuses on custom renovations, additions, full-gut rehab, and new construction projects throughout the Philadelphia area. However, Kevin and his team focus on the homeowner niche rather than development.

“We really like the homeowner niche,” Kevin shared. “We want to work on spaces that are actually being lived in by the people paying for them.”

Rather than prioritizing speed or builder-grade finishes, Kevin and his team focus on intentional design, high end materials, and craftsmanship that lasts.

One project Kevin is especially excited about and one Junk in the Truck recently had the opportunity to support, is Mallard Builders’ largest renovation project to date: a 6,000 square-foot custom renovation in Bucks County, PA.

The home features six bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, and carefully designed details throughout every space. Each room has been thoughtfully customized for the family, with a designer working hand in hand with the homeowners to select everything from flooring and tile to finishes and fixtures.

“Every room has its own unique details,” Kevin explained. “Everything is being designed very intentionally for the family.”

While stunning finishes and eye-catching details may grab attention, Kevin strongly believes the most important part of a home is what people don’t usually see.

“Finishes are sexy,” he joked, “but what’s behind the walls is frankly more important.”

That mindset drives the way Mallard Builders approaches every project. Kevin believes quality craftsmanship should extend beyond surface level design.

As a contractor managing large renovations and custom builds, Kevin relies on trusted partners who can work efficiently and treat projects with care. Junk in the Truck has supported Kevin and his team with demolition and cleanout services on a variety of projects.

“You guys don’t mess around”, Kevin shared. “I can leave the team there and have peace of mind.”

At Junk in the Truck, we are proud to work alongside builders like Mallord Builders who prioritize integrity, craftsmanship, and building homes designed to last.
